Position Overview:

National Energy Installers is seeking a talented and experienced Commercial Solar and Storage Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing solar and energy storage systems for commercial properties. Your expertise in system modeling, energy simulations, and knowledge of the latest solar and storage technologies will be vital in developing efficient and effective designs. You will collaborate with the project management and engineering teams to ensure that designs meet project requirements and industry standards. Responsibilities:

  • System Design and Optimization: Design and optimize solar and energy storage systems for commercial properties.
  • System Modeling and Energy Simulations: Utilize expertise in system modeling and energy simulations to create efficient designs.
  • Technology Integration: Incorporate the latest solar and storage technologies into system designs.
  • Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with the project management and engineering teams to align designs with project requirements and goals.
  • Compliance with Standards: Ensure designs meet relevant industry standards and best practices.
  • Technical Documentation: Create detailed design documents and specifications for project execution.
  • Design Review and Validation: Conduct reviews and validations of solar and storage system designs.
  • Problem-Solving: Address and resolve design-related issues that arise during project implementation.
  • Cost and Efficiency Analysis: Analyze designs for cost-effectiveness and energy efficiency.
  • Client Liaison: Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and customize designs accordingly.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of advancements in solar and storage technology and apply this knowledge to designs.
  • Quality Assurance: Uphold high standards of quality in all design work.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in Solar and Storage Design: Proven experience in designing commercial solar and energy storage systems.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of system modeling, energy simulations, and solar/storage technologies.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
  • Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in design work.
  • Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex systems and optimize for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Knowledge of Industry Standards: Familiarity with industry standards and regulations pertaining to solar and energy storage.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration and documentation.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Skilled in identifying and solving design-related problems.

At NEI, our work model requires up to 100% travel for site visits.

Compensation Range:

The salary range for this position is: $70,000 – $75,000, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual’s skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.

NOTE: Title and salary will be commensurate with candidate experience.
